Congratulations to our cross-country runners!

St. Paul’s brought home the team banner for both girls and boys cross-country running qualifying race this past weekend!

There were runners in town from all across the Avalon as far as Placentia, Trepassey, Salmonier Line as well as most metro schools. Our girls team dominated – we had four girls start the race and all four finished in the top ten. Brynn Furlong won the race! Sarah Pace finished 3rd, Reagan Gibbons finished 5th and Annika Healey finished 8th. Therefore we got individual gold and bronze as well as team gold medals and a top team banner for the school which they all signed.

The boys race was a close one; our five boy starters all finished giving St. Paul’s a first place team award. Jeffrey Hayward and Tristen Paranavitana were in the top five finishers followed closely by Nik Starkes, Andrew Veitch and Alex Chislett. They also got team gold medals and a championship top team banner.
Congratulations and thanks to Mr. Furlong for all his hard work with the team!running-banner
